After the success of our 785R frame we decided to keep its positive epiphany geometry features on our 2008 road racing bike line. 781R road race bike frame is designed for criterium, and road racing. This is a Leader bike first in the massive bicycle industry. We knew from experience that our time trial frames using a special type of horizontal set screw dropout system allowed the rider to set the wheelbase where it needed to be depending on the type of race or road conditions. Leader decided a year ago to design and test this innovative dropout system on Leader geometry road racing frames. But it does not stop there. Here are some features found on the 781R frame. 7075 hardened cnc laser cut dropouts. Built in set screws keep the chain and drive train fixed to perfection. Oversize braze on hanger to accommodate anything from a compact crank set to a standard without using any special components. 12K carbon molded wishbone seat stay design, (only the best). Full aero 80mm down tube (only a few manufacturers can actually claim this). Hydro formed aero seat tube cutout with top mount seat post clamp system, (improves aerodynamics). Frame is made mostly of UA 6066 heat treated T6 double butted aluminum. 781R comes painted in deep multicoated super gloss black paint with extra coats of clear coat. Now let?s make this clear. This frame is not a fixed gear bike. It is a road racing bike frame. Now if you want to build the frame into a fixed gear bike it will work no problem. Rear spacing on this frame is 130mm made to fit a standard road wheel hub. This would be up to you. This bikes main purpose is to be a road racing bike first and second a fixed gear bike. This is what works with this frame: 68mm English bottom bracket (spindle length depends on crank set manufacturer) Will accommodate a compact or standard crank set 27.2mm standard seat post (later in the year Leader will introduce an upgrade to a carbon aero seat post with seat clamp system) Braze on front derailleur Takes a 1 1/8" thread less FSA orbit CC or IS headset or a standard cane creek IS integrated headset system 700c standard road wheels rear spacing is 130mm, (if used with a fixed track 120mm hub wheel make sure you add two 5mm spacers) If you have any questions feel free to contact us contact@leaderbikeusa.com or 619 425 6452.
